Hey, I’m Taylor Calamese
I’m a certified Personal Trainer, Exercise Physiologist, and Fitness Nutrition Specialist. You might say I’m in the fitness business but I like to say I’m in the business of empowering women.

From the time I was a little girl, I always knew that I wanted to help women feel good about themselves. I knew that was my purpose on this earth and I’m grateful that I get to do this every single day.

But it wasn’t always this way.
Throughout most of high school and some of college, I struggled with Bulimia and was stuck in a toxic cycle of self-hate and controlling behaviors. I felt like I needed to be thin no matter what the cost was and believe me…the cost was high.

During college, I spent some time in the bodybuilding world which only fuelled my disordered eating habits even more. Having to restrict my food in order to achieve a certain “look” sent me into a downward spiral of bingeing and purging.
I remember thinking to myself, “Ok this is not my scene. This is not the space for me.”
At the same time, I had gone back to grad school and was learning more and more about the science and the research behind exercise and nutrition. I was fascinated by all of it.

I started using these tools to change my relationship with fitness, nutrition, and my body.
I knew that in order to do this, I had to be able to view my body in a different way… outside of the scale.
Over time my training focus became about getting stronger and more fit as opposed to just being thinner.
I began fuelling my body with nutrient-dense foods to support my workouts and my life.

For the first time in a long time, I began seeing my progress outside of the scale and it felt incredible. I could run faster, jump higher, lift heavier and my mental health was finally in a good place. I was healing.
I knew that this is what I want to pass along to others. I knew that this was my calling.
It’s my mission to show women that: 
Fitness and nutrition don’t need to be so complicated. What matters most is consistency and creating a foundation of healthy, sustainable habits that feel good to you.

Exercise doesn’t need to be punishing in order to be effective.
